STUDIO GUIDELINES

LOCATION/PARKING

Our address is 727 Airport Blvd. off of Levander Loop.

Parking is available in front of the building, look for the Broad Studios Club House parking only signs. The parking lot is tight so please make sure to pull your vehicle up as much as you can.

WHAT TO WEAR

Clothes you are comfortable with getting a little dirty! Shoes must be worn at all times.

CLAY

  • We use mid fire clay, Cinco Blanco and Cinco Rojo from Armadillo Clay.

  • Your clay will have to be approved by your instructor if you would like to use a different clay. If you use a clay that isn’t Cinco Rojo/Blanco we require you to make test tiles and test the compatibility with our glazes and your clay.

GLAZING/ FIRING

  • All the glazes will provided by the Club House. Outside glazes aren’t allowed, unless it has been tested and approved by your instructor or studio manager.

  • If the bottom of your pot isn’t properly wiped or the glaze is too thick, it will be placed on the try again shelf. Try again shelf doesn’t mean we won’t fire it, it just needs to be corrected before we can fire it

UNDERGLAZES

  • We do not provide underglazes, but we have a box of donated underglazes on the glaze table.

  • Stroke n’ Coat has glaze in it so please do NOT put this underglaze on the bottom of your pots, they will stick to the shelves.

FIRING

  • We only fire a kiln load once we have enough work to fill a kiln. This usually happens closer to week 4 of each class session.

OPEN STUDIO

  • Open Studio hours are non-instructional time for you to come work on your projects.

  • Open Studio will be $10 per reservation and for fairness we limit everyone to one reservation per release. If you are having trouble paying the Open Studio Fee, please email us at hello@broadstudiosclubhouse.com.

  • No refunds will be offered for open studio hours. If you cannot make it into your reserved Open Studio session, we suggest you try to find a classmate via slack who can take your spot so it doesn’t go to waste.

  • NON TRANSFERABLE to another date

MAKE-UP CLASS POLICY

We will only accommodate a make up class request for emergency situations. Open Studio is the best option to make up for any missed class time. If you miss a class you are given one complimentary open studio, just make your reservation, let us know and we will issue you a refund.

REFUND POLICY

6 week classes: Full refunds are available up to two weeks before the start date of your class.

Date Night/ Workshop: Full refunds for workshops and date nights are available up to one week before your class. Partial refunds can be available on a case-by-case basis, but are not guaranteed.

COVID PRECAUTIONS

We are continuing to watch and follow CDC guidelines. As of October 1, 2022, masks are optional, but strongly recommended. The Club House will have an air purifier operating during all classes and Open Studios to minimize airborne allergens, viruses, and clay dust.
